Health Programs

 

AFIADI through this objective, work towards improving health situation of mainly children affected and infected by the HIV/ AIDS epidemic. Giving psychosocial support through counseling, training caregivers and the community capacity building at large on how to deal with children affected with diseases, malaria prevention and control. Improving hygiene and sanitation. Activities to focus on include care and support, family visits, community dialogue and follow or monitoring of the health condition in the proposed area. 

 

 

 


Achievements

 

Sensitizing and advocacy have been extended to communities. This has been reached at by giving out Herbal Medicine to the people infected and affected with HIV/ AIDS. Elderly people with ulcers, back pains, pressure, malaria and other people with various diseases.

 

Community sensitization on conservative or backward practices around water sources e.g. urinating or defecating around them as well as water source management committees.

 

Various community leaders, community based health workers and utility communities have been sensitized and good hygiene to encourage or promote good environmental sensitization. 

 

26 Community outreach activities in schools and communities have been carried out on health aspects including sanitation, hygiene and nutrition.

 

Training of psycho-social counseling to reduce trauma and associated strains in internally displaced persons.
